The apex.
It seems appropriate that my high watermark for our adventure also sits at the mid-point of our trip. This courtesy of my Travel Planning Wife who mapped the whole thing down to the picosecond. From the get-go my highest anticipation of this Italian vacation was Tuscany (despite our itinerary taking us to the beautiful Amalfi Coast and historic Rome afterwards). When I think of Italy, I think of wine country and rolling hills and an easy-going lifestyle with great food and grape.
Not disappointed one bit. This for me, friends, is Tuscany and the Italian mojo…
With high expectations for this leg came the same motivation for coming away with at least one reasonable frame. I think I made some others but this is what my mind’s eye sees when I think “Tuscany”. Big sky, rolling terrain, lush vineyards, colour and warmth. It also illustrates how difficult it is to get the truly exceptional shots that frequent the airwaves and travel books. There are so many ways to look, so many enticing views. Figuring out what to stick in the viewfinder is mind boggling. The local shooters who make a living out of this place must truly enjoy their work.
Cheers.
