What a Hoar

Inspired by Scott Campbell’s iPhone photo of winter trees I captured this earlier today. Trees all hoar-frosty in the early morning, and the sun poked out and lit them up. Goes to show, however, that it’s not the camera that makes the image. Scott’s photograph kicks the s**t out of this, yet was taken with “only” an iPhone vs. a pro-level full frame DSLR that clocks in at over $2K.

Shadows in the Snow

It’s a cool, crisp, clear morning here on the prairies. Low light and burms of snow make for interesting shape and texture. Conveniently located out of my window.

Watching & Waiting

I find it miraculous how quickly time blows past. Take for instance the fact that my last blog update was “way back” on November 19th and I’ve done sweet FA since. Lots of photos taken, but I haven’t had the energy or motivation or time or some combination of each to actively post. Mired in “what to do”.

Riding Musically

I barely remember how to create a post it’s been so long and so erratic.  Still have a backlog of lake and travel shots to process, print, and share.  Anyone interested in dropping a big bag of money at my feet to allow the time for such things?  

Dreams aside we had the opportunity to take in the RCMP Musical Ride last weekend.  It’s a pretty cool display of synchronization, timing, and precision.  Difficult to shoot from a fixed position as it moves pretty quick.
